After jump, GOOD car cranks and cranks but will not start

So I'm in a rush to get to the airport to pick up some people with 2 cars when my 2nd car driver says his car is dead. I roll up and in the rush hook up the RED STRUT TOWER negative mount (my car is red) to the BLACK POSITIVE mount to his positive and negative and short them out (used to red/black to mean something =/ ). Last negative I hook up, I see some sparts that freak me out.

I hooked it up correctly after and the dead car jumped ok, but now my e30 doesn't start. It cranks and cranks as if you turned on the CODE antitheft. All electonics, OBC, radio, lights work as usual. Fuses are ok.

What do you guys think I toasted? Fuel pump relay perhaps? I REALLY hope it's not the DME.

      Haha thanks for the SLJ.

      Sorry, OK.

I had to jump my friend's car. So I put his jumper cable BLACK to his engine block and RED to his positive battery terminal. Then I attach my e30 jumper cable end BLACK to my positive and RED to my negative, effectively shorting the circuit. (Because the colors threw me off in a rush)

See some sparks, now the car will crank forever and never start. All electronics work normally. I read to look at OBDI engine codes, but the check engine light doesn't even come on at all now.

What do you think I have to replace now?

when you turn the ignition ti the on position can you hear the fuel pump ?

My pump relay died and it did the same thing, I think that is when I caused quite a bit of damage to the engine by trying to get it to start for 30 minutes.

Sounds like you broke the fusible link.
