Ok so on my 1991 325i I have a map light. It works when it wants too. I flick the switch to turn the lights on and it’s always a coin toss. Anyone know what I should look for? Anybody have any idea where it connects? Im almost positive it is in the speaker location. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is it a standard maplight mirror or a retrofit? Typically, when you retrofit a maplight mirror you splice into the power lines from the check panel.
Pull out the check panel and see if you can spot any obvious splices. There should be two wires from the maplight mirror that go to the check panel harness - + and -.
