Power sunroof vs manual crank info please.

What kind of weight difference is there between power sunroof and manual crank sunroof? I'd like to remove it altogether but must keep it due to autox rules.....

I believe the only difference between a manual sun-roof and a powered one is the means by which the sun roof is opened, i.e. the mechanism. The majority of the assembly is the same between the powered and non-powered, same cable set-up, tracks, sliders, etc. The powered has an electric motor with a switch and a few more wires, whereas the manual has well, a manual crank. I have not intentionally weighed a sun-roof motor, but I doubt it is anymore than a couple-few pounds (which is what you could expect to shed).

Is it possible to convert from a manual crank to an electric motor?

Yeah, it is not to big of a deal. I think there are a few right ups on this forum, just search around a little.
