Antenna help! please.

hey guys i recently picked up a 318 and the antenna motor works fine, but was told that the mast was broken. i have a new mast and everything but the guy took it apart not me, so was wondering if someone could guide me on how to fix it. thanks Aaron.

normally, the mast is replaced without removing anything. you just have to take out the retaining ring. so, perhaps put it back together, and try replacing it the usual way:

Un-thread the retaining ring from the base of mast. power up the antenna byt turning the radio on. As it is going up, pull on it such that is comes out completely. Start feeding the new mast and have a friend turn the radio off.. keep feeding the new mast as it's getting suck in. Thread the retaining ring back on, and you're done.
