    SSK...

Hey i've read the FAQ, i'm looking to get a z4 or z3 shift lever, but i would rather not have to bend the selector rod. I think i'd like to get the Z3 3.0 lever if it fits without modification, but if that doesn't work i'll end up getting the z4 2.5.

Also is it true that the 318is doesn't have a harmonic balancer in the way?

sweet, so my buddy with a 318is can choose from any lever and it will fit without modification? I'd like to find out which levers fit 325's without modification as well.

Bending the selector rod isn't that hard. I had to do it with my UUC kit.

No modification needed with the Z3 1.9.

Can someone clarify which levers require bending of the selector rod and which don't for the 325i / e?

Please let us know how to do this. Ill be doing a auto to manual swap and if its possible I would remove the balancer. But how and with what would be great to know before hand.

Any downsides to removing the balancer?

                    I have a 92' 318ic, would I need to bend anything for the Z4 3.0 to work?

Some people say they notice a slight noise difference, but i haven't done it so i can't testify.

once you remove the flex disc and have the drive shaft hanging out and down a bit, thread an old nut on the the threads and pound out the studs. remove the balancer, and pound back in the studs, and done.
