So i took my m42 out and it started making a loud crunching, klunking noise when it rolls. I lifted the car up and looked underneath to see if anything was rubbing or loose or leaking but everything looks alright. The car only makes the noise when its moving. I turned the car off and rolled it in neutral and same noise. Car runs and drives fine other than the noise and when i take a left the noise softens. So HELP!!! can anybody suggest what maybe the problem is so i can try to fix it...anything will help.

This could be anything from the transmission back. With the car in the air take a look at the driveshaft differential, and half shafts. If you can't spot anything obviously not right, flat-bed the car to a BMW dealer or indie shop and have it professionally diagnosed. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

sounds like a bad wheel bearing - when you turn left, that shifts more weigh onto the right side, so if your wheel bearings are going bad, i bet they are going out on the left side.
best way to check is to lift the car and spin all four wheels, if one makes more noise then the other, you found your problem
