Setting OBC

I have a 13 button OBC. I cant get it to read in American units. Someone please check my method below. If this is correct, I guess my OBC is faulty.

1. Start car
2. Press M-MPH once
3. Press the little contact button once.
4. Press AVG MPH once to set OBC to U.S. units
5. Press the little contact button again to save setting.

I also cant get the date to set, but the time works fine. Do you set the time, press the contact button, then start over for the date? Or do you set time, then date, then hit the contact button?

To set the units:

1) Turn the ignition on
2) Press the master set button
3) Press the MPG button to change from from km/l to m/gal
4) Press the master set

The time and date are separate functions and each require the use of the master set. To set either, do:

1) Press Time (or Date)
2) Press master reset
3) Set the time (or date)
4) Press master set
