    fuel gauge issues

i just bought a 91 318 i yesterday and my fuel gauges is sticking on full any body know of anything i can do to fix this

That can be caused by a fault in the gauge, or more commonly by a fault in the level sensor or wiring. The float can be stuck in the full position, or a short in the wiring will cause a full tank indication. The fist thing to do would be check the level sensor. If you disconnect it the gauge should fall to E. If it does the fault is in the sensor and if not you need to look to the wiring.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
