    Recalls?

What are the recalls available for the E30?
Someone mentioned adding a coolant line, what is the purpose of this?

    thanks

It's a bypass line for the heatercore. You don't need it unless you're and idiot and think driving around with the temp gauge in the red is ok.

This 'recall' was due to a law suit where some old woman got burned by her heater blowing up eventhough she was driving with it on max red zone.

there was a possible defect with the heater valve but most were taken care of a LONG time ago or now would most likely be a cause of age. The one you and Adam mentioned was really just a service bulletin to cover BMWs asses in litigation.

There is a laundry list of little problems that were addressed over the ages. Take your VIN to you dealer and find out what has been done to it.

Thermostat for certain E30's. I had mine replaced for no charge about 3 years ago by the BMW dealership.

There's also one for fuel hoses on some 325i models. If you're affected, dealer might replace them for free.

If its a NHTSA/government mandated recall, they have to by law.
