    M20 power steering pump strength?

Ok With my m30 Engine swap I found out I need the B35 power steering brackets to use with the B35 Oil pan. I just got the brackets today in the mail and started to figure how they went together. My m30 engine didn't come with a power steering pump and it won't fit in the B35 brackets anyways. But I discovered the M20 325i bad pump I had sitting around fits fine. So Do you think the M20 power steering pump will be strong enough to move the wheels with the heavier m30 engine under the hood? I'm sure a good m20 pump will be a lot cheaper then a good used M30 535i B35 pump.

I know nothing of the subject, but if it fits fine, have you ever cross checked P/Ns to make sure they are not the same?

Yes it will work fine, it works with my M50. The car is over boosted anyway.

Yep double checked the numbers and there different. But the ETK shows a bracket on the pump and this may cuase for the difference in part numbers.
It's weird how so many parts are interchangable as the m20 pump will also fit a 318i if you swap around the brackets. I guese I can just go with the m20 pump and if it blows I'll replace it as there quit easy to get to with the B25 brackets.

Have you ever tried it without the power steering pump??
I find it great to drive even in the city ....

Anyway the power steering pump takes away some hp so i took it out...

Yes but with 16x7.5 Heavy wheels it was very, very hard to drive anywhere. Now on my 318i I removed the steering but it's a lighter car and has stock wheels.

I won't be running a PS pump ... besides it's a good work out on the arms...It's only a bitch to parallel park and when it's hot....oh and when your tired, or feeling lazy...or if someone else drives your car and makes fun of you...or if you run big tires...

                Oh...well

My 325is was almost undriveable without the power steering, I like the way it feels right now as it is underpowered and you still have to use your muscles to turn the wheel.
I think it's just these Heavy wheels and the 7.5" width. Or something.
