ok i know with timing chains, one usually replaces the sprocket along with the chain. but with a timing belt, when replacing it, should I replace the cam gear?

You don't need to replace the cam gear, but you are going to want to replace the timing belt tensioner.

Only if it's needed, according to Bentley. I just finished doing Bemmerfanatik's. Only 5.5 hours of casual work with lunch and a coffee brake plus the water pump.

If it was cleaned prior it'd been a differant story. I got's to have my coffee. 8)

i just got my cylinder head back a couple weeks ago, so it's nice and clean, milled, valve-jobbed, etc.

we'll be pulling the eta motor, then new rods, pistons, put the head on, and assemble the rest of the new parts. I just have to wait for kevin chinn to send my oil scraper ring, and I'll be set! well, I need main and rod bearings, gasket set, and head bolts first too

That's nice, as it's always sweet to come away with clean hands.

Yeah yeah yeah. As I said, I hadn't done much under the hood...things will be different when the stroker goes back in...the car is going to look showroom under there.

Casual isn't even the word Greg...we could have done it in half that time no sweat.

Still haven't dropped a SINGLE drop, I'm in utter shock at the night and day difference.

Now for the chip and diff, since it's about ready to get MOVING faster!
