Hollow Cat?

Nah, I wouldnt do it unless its plugged up or something.
You won't get too much power out of it, and you'll have to worry about the fines that could potentially be charged to you.
Unless its a race motor, don't bother.

It will make a difference actually. Not a big one but it will. Your car will also sound better.

Well Im in Michigan so we dont have to worry about getting smog tests or anything.
Maybe if a muffler is Really loud.

Now that's seriously too much work... just get a set of straight pipes made and swap 'em out for inspection... it's one day versus 364 (or 5). Part of owning an "illegally" modified car.
