Installed JC chip and 173 ECU into my 88is

wow, what a huge difference. idle smoother, and the car pulls MUCH harder in the 3.5k-5k range in all gears. the extra RPM range is pretty useless in my opinion though...i can already get the car up to 135 stock, who the hell wants to drive faster than that? big thanks to my buddy mikey for hookin it up on the parts, good lookin out man. i seriously destroyed the stock chip while pulling it out, but oh well, who gives a shit. one quick question for other ppl who have done the JC chip.

does the little plastic cover go back over the JC chip? i didnt even try b/c i forgot i had it till after i put the ecu back together, oh yeah and DAMN, the JC chip is HUGE!!!!

Is your JC chip the piggy back one?

No, AFAIK, the plastic clip does not go over the JC chip after its installed. You're good to go. Just make sure you bent those metal pieces back into place to hold the cover
