i know theres a million posts about shadowline, but i cant figure out how to get the pieces of trim off that run flat along the bottom of the window. no, i dont want to mask the hell out of my car and just paint it so dont link me to somewhere that shows them doing it.

You have to pry them straight up. Unfortunately the clips hold them pretty good, at least mine did. I gently started at one end and tried not to bend the trim and it went ok.
Use whatever to protect the paint on the car while you pry the trim upward with a flat-head screw driver or whatever comes handy, don't worry about the trim as you will painting it later.
