    Auxilliary fuse block?

My 318iC has what appears to be an auxiliary fuse block clipped to the main block. It could hold four fuses, but there are only two contacts in it and no fuses. It appears to be factory, but there is nothing about it in the owners manual. Anyone else have one of these or know what it's for? It's square and has a dust cover.

Most of us have em. It is exactly what you think. I have my daytime lights, and my electric fan wired up there. It keeps things clean.

Is there any particular reason why they stuck a fuse block on and then didn't use it? That seems rather odd.

That is for aftermarket accessories. One of the fuse positions provides switched power and the other, unswitched power.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Do you know which is which?

Funny that they'd put in a fuse block for aftermarket parts with all of the warning labels saying that using aftermarket accessories will cause your car to explode.

Red wire is always hot, green is switched.

Thanks! I'm sure I'll find a use for that little box.
