    Rubbing/grinding noise

    Hello,

    I just replaced my subframe bushings, control arm bushings, and diff bushing. Now I have a rubbing noise coming from the back end. It isn't my brakes or the tin around them so I was wondering if it is possible for the diff/drive shaft to shift causing this? Is that much more noise transfered into the cab with Poly bushings? My rear bearings need to be replaced but they never made this noise before. Has anyone had this sort of thing happen to them?

    Poly subframe and diff bushings will transmit a lot more noise from the final drive into the car. What you are hearing now could be failing rear wheel bearings that the poly bushing are now allowing you to hear.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Yeah I figured some noise would transmit through. I did find something rubbing on a half shaft and fixed that. So now the left over noise is most likely my bearings. Do the poly bushings also allow a little bit of a clunk when giving gas or letting off? It seems that it is the little bit of play from the drive shaft transfered to the diff then to the wheels that is doing it.

        The poly bushings should not cause a clunk, but they will make any other problem much more apparent.
        The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
