Oil pan gasket Q: RTV or Cork?

Is it better to use the OEM cork gasket (at a cost of $23), or go with RTV Black (made specifically for oil pans)? I'd love to save $20 and use the RTV, I think it would hold up just fine. Has anyone used it on their car? How'd it work?

Can't claim experience with aluminum oil pans, but on sheet metal pans it is fine (IE chevy)

I would use the oem cork gasket and put a light bead of rtv on the top and bottom.
