just wandering on this? im installing manual steering (from power, people ask me why and i cant explain) whats the point on the steering damper? i presume that i need it.....does it add any resistance?

Gus, what is the condition of your old rack? How many miles on it? NZ is too far to ship from should you be willing to sell it, but I am really curious.
Mine at 230,000 is shot. Has like 1/2" of slop at the tie rod....nasty. I was hoping it was just ends, but no luck.

what do you mean by kick around? old steering is working perfectly...just want the big manly arms from a manual rack.....haha just picked it up from a wrecked e30 316...gonna see if i like it...if not sell it on.....the e30 power steering is soooo slow.....will let you guys know what the comparison is like...im keen to know myself!JUNGL3
