    Tachometer pooped out. . .

I just finished putting my transmission and clutch assembly back into my 318i and now my tachometer won't read correctly.
When I started up it it was working then once in motion it quit.
I also took my cluster out and painted my needles. could I have knocked something loose?
I researched around onr3v but couldn't find anything close only stuff with the batteries on the si board.
does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

Check the wiring behind the gauges. Also check for pinched wires around the tranny.
