CEL Blink Codes

Just got back from Vaterland today and my Dad tells me the CEL is on. I just need to know the blink codes (y'know, gas pedal 5 times...). I tried searching but its 5AM Vaterland time but 11PM the previous day USA time and I'm fuckin' beat.

Well, funny thing you say that--I just went out to see what the deal is with my car, but when I do this the light doesn't even blink! It just stays on. Car's running, it stays on. I turn it off and put the key to on (all the way off, then key out and back in to "reset") and I do the gas pedal thing and it doesn't blink. Don't know what the deal with that is...

Car runs fine, although I haven't driven it yet today. Runs like it always has. It's had a new battery put in, as well as new brake sensors, pads, new steering rack... That's about it. My Dad drove it every two months or so over my 11 month period in Germany. The battery was always dead, though, each time he came to it. I think it is just a faulty light or fuse.

n/m I'm an idiot. Dad disconn. the battery one too many times and the DME just had to reset itself.

A bad TPS, or a misadjusted TPS, or a misadjusted idle stop will prevent the "stomp test" from working. The DME has to see five alterations of the idle and WOT switch in the TPS for the test to work. The test and adjustment procedure for the throttle stop and TPS is in the Bentley.
