Where is a writeup on a chip install in a 173 ECU?

All the writeups I am finding talk about 2 boards and pulling them apart. That is not what I see at all. I have a single board. It appears the chip that I should be able to change out is the one furthest back with a nice black plastic cover over it?

Any writeups or tips on how to pull the chip successfully.

    thanks in advance.

That's the one, Just pry the cover off and CAREFULLY pry the chip out. Then replace it CAREFULLY with the new one making sure you don't bend the pins. I believe the two board separation was for earlier ecu's/
Wait, your name is Houston and you live in DFW???? Weird.

Make sure you don't just pry from one side, I made that mistake and fux0r3d my stock chip up.

You've got the instructions for a 153 ecu. They have a 2 board setup, and you've got a 173 or one of the other ecus in your car. Just be extremely careful like has already been said and you'll be fine.
