Windows haze

Hey,

My windows consistently have a thick haze on them that's hard to remove. I can smear it off with my finger, but it's impossible to get it all off so it always looks like I did a bad job cleaning the windows.

I searched and this seems to be symptomatic of a bad heater core. But the heater works great and doesn't fog up the windows any more when it's running. The windows get this way from the car sitting. Also, the car doesn't smell of coolant, the vents don't spew anything, and there are no puddles under the carpet. Any ideas?

I have this problem too. It only started when I did two things at once, so I don't know what to blame. I installed eDead sound deadening - and mint vinyl sport seats, that I DRENCHED in a armor all like product.

It the clouding of the windows is MUCH worse when it's in the sun.

Did you do either of these things?

BTW - my heater core and valves are fine too BTW - I can wash the e30 and let it sit for a week - and always the same result, but it is getting less over time.

My dad seems to think it's due to some sort of cheap interior detailer having been used in the past. I'm trying to think back to when this started happening, but I can't remember doing anything different. I do regularly thoroughly coat the entire interior with 303 aerospace protectant, but I'm pretty sure that's water based and wouldn't be the cause.

I haven't noticed it being any worse in the sun, but it's rarely not sunny.

I should also add that I just about never use the heater(other than testing it earlier to see if it worked). Could that be it?

I bet you it's the "armor all" or the like. When I say I DRENCHED my seats, I soaked them in the stuff (well, at least the look brand new)

its from i think the silicone used in the cleaning products, the sun does something to make it evaporate and it collects on the windshield. use a dry cloth and rub like hell to get it off.

i think smoking causes it too.

my windows get that way because my tint is old.
but the sun causes all sorts of problems

Could be crappy window cleaner.
