    Reverse, Neutral Issue

    Hey guys,

I'm having an issue with i'm not sure quite what, maybe someone has a suggestion. I'm not mechanically inclined myself.

My late model automatic 325is is running just fine in drive, but when put in reverse, it will go maybe half a foot, and then stop. The exact thing happens if it is put in neutral, and pushed backwards. The feeling is as if the ebrake has just been pulled, and I don't know for sure but it feels as if its only one side stopping.

    Any Ideas?

I did a couple searches and couldn't come up with anything, as I don't know what part the problem involves.

    Thanks, J.

Just a guess, but check you shifter linkage and make sure that it isn't out of adjustment. If that happens, the locking pin might not be disengaging like it should (its the thing that keeps the car from rolling when you put it into park.)
