    coolant leak... have some questions...

what is the purpose of the two coolant line going to the throttle body and what would cause coolant to leak out of the upper hose at the hoseclamp other than a bad hose... hose seems fine

gonna try and replace it later today but i dont think the hose is the problem

Purpose is to keep the TB warm so it doesn't stick in COLD conditions. It supposedly also affects emissions. Its been discussed a lil earlier already ;)

Some cracks you will not see until the hose is under pressure. It is possible that your gasket is leaking also. If you are sure the hose is fine, check the cork gasket.

You can temporarily get an in-line connector and connect both ends of the hoses and plug the holes on the TB

This was the problem with mine. I replaced the gasket and the leak stopped.

I bypassed mine, cut the hoses down, and ran it like a normal hose under the intake manifold.

To answer you question, I had same problem about year ago, my gasket went, and started spitting coolant all over my engine bay, weird, took it home, cooled it down, took entire T/B out for more room to work on, took it apart cleaned all the surfaces out with sand paper, and instead of using gasket, I used copper gasket maker, applied small amount around the areas where it seals, put the plate back on, and it's been fine ever since but now since I put Turbo, I got rid of it due to some room for my BOV/Diverter Valve.

How long did it take to replace the gasket?
