sooo... what would cause my car to just shut down completely?

god damnit. its juan thing after another

so. fixed a bunch of wiring issues (yay!) saw my #6 spark plug wire was arcing on the head (not good) got a new one, insulated the ms harness with some feckin liquid electrical tape (cool shit) so im driving to conhosmers, shit is running tip top, go to pull in and the thing just dies. try to start it again, nothing. go in, get some beer, come bakc out, the shit cranks, runs, doesnt skip a fucking beat.

driving back down 20a, same shit. just up and dies while in gear under load. i give it gas and can hear the intake chirp (you know that shund the tb makes when its sucking air) but no revs

ive noticed it does it when the car is hot. it'll die, you'll crank it, it wont start. walk back out 1 hr later, crank it, starts right up like nothing was ever wrong. suggestions?

oh and i switched the main relay and still nothing. same shit

Fuel pump relay is in the auxiliary relay panel on the strut tower. I always forget if it's the front one or rear one though. I believe it's the front. I mark them so I won't have to remember.

pump still primes fine even though the car doesn't start. ms box lights up fine while cranking. drove it to school today, got out of class, went to go home, would crank but wouldn't start. can smell fuel, its getting spark, checked the injector harness (the one by the fuel rail and t-stat right? 1 prong?)

so where is the cps located? that's what I'm going to check next.

              any other suggestions?

              thanks

CPS is on a little bracket by the harmonic balancer.

The harmonic balancer attaches to the front of the crankshaft.

In the attached diagram of the front timing cover, you can see #11 is the CPS, and would sit right next to the harmonic balancer.

If it was the CPS wouldn't once it turns off it would stay off? I know my car had the problem like that, and it seemed to be the main relay. But I never had enough time to check because I swapped motors.
