stuck until i switch this hoses

so i started changing my intake hoses but i ran into a problem.
this is the one hose i haven't been able to pull out:


theres a metal tube that seems to curve and go through the hose.
is that the case?



im having a very hard time removing this hose because of this tube.
any help would be great.

replaced my cracked hoses.
started the car, not a problem.

took it out for a drive, now the check engine light is on.
the car idles perfectly so i keep going.

as soon as i try to rev up the engine hesitates and pulls back like im pushing on the breaks. other dash lights turned on and engine died.

started it up again and was able to make it to work.

now i'm looking for pictures of m42 engine bays to cross reference the hoses connections.
any links to helpful pics would be great.
