Can anyone tell me what this is and what it connects to i think this is the reason my car has been sick lately...probably.

its your carbon cannister. it goes on the barb on the bottom side of your throttle body. its just part of the fuel systems emission system

EDIT: it would cause a small vacuum leak but it shouldnt cause too many issues
