Anit-lock light is on - anything to worry about?

The anti-lock light has been on in the E30 ever since I bought it, but there doesn't seem to be any problems with the brakes at all, they seem fine. Loose sensor or something maybe?

Could be the cog, bad sensor, bad ABS Computer, loose ground, Bad hydralic actuator, etc.

do you want ABS? I plan on putting a switch on mine for instant on/off, I would check connection harness's to the sensors first, the two under the rear seat and the two under the hood

yea mine was on when i bought the car. mechanic said it was the left front speed sensor. replaced that and it was still on. so now he's sayin its the actual abs computer that suposed to tell you when something is wrong is the thing thats wrong. hmm.. kinda funny actually. he says hes seen that alot in older bimmers. i'm leavin it alone cus brakes are fine.

i had the problem on my old car. my fix was to replace the fusable link in the little fuse under the steering wheel. its very easy to fix.

-remove the ABS relay box from under the steering wheel. Its ontop of a metal box on the rear of it, just slide it over to the left and it will come off. Disconnect the harness. Open the box up, and you will probably see a broken fuse wire. Go get some fusable link of the same size, and re-solder in a new piece. This description is very vague, as I couldn't find it on BEN, but maybe if you just start poking around down there you will find the relay, its about the size of a 9volt battery.

I still liked the time Jordan locked up his car doing 60 at 5 in the morning . Got to love no ABS. :)

Yeah I will post a writeup when I do it, I am running the M3 ABS On my car, so it may be a tad different, however I am just tapping into the ABS Relay

Where is the ABS relay? In the fuse box or is it behind the dash where the computer is ... ? Ugg.
