Long story short I found a clean 89 325is in my price range but it needs motor mounts, and tranny mounts. My dad says if the motor and tranny mounts are bad then the drive train is warped. I told him this is wrong, but he argued he was right. He said he had a 88 cadilac that had bad motor mounts and he attached a chain to hold it down, and said that it wined and ran like crap. I don't think he has a clue what hes talking about, but I could be wrong,

Motor mounts are one of the most common failures on an E30.
I broke both of mine withing a year of buying my car. Nothing is warped. It's a piece of rubber glued to two pieces of steel. Both the adhesive and rubber degrade over time.
Replace them now, or the motor will shift and the power steering pump or alternator will slice into your lower radiator and you'll be on sitting on the side of the road.

I chose simply to respond with a solution but honestly to say "your drivetrain is warped" really makes no sense at all.
Warped
Distorted by warping; twisted out of shape
Drivetrain
All the components, excluding engine, which transmit the engine's power to the rear wheels: clutch, transmission, driveline and drive axle(s).
... Just tell him the E30 guys told you you need new motor mounts.| Jimmy | 1999 M3 | 1986 325 ES |
