Engine still on when I turn the ignition off!!

Hello, when i turn the ignition off and pull the key, the engine still runs! the only way to turn it off is to stall it, and when i do, the dash lights, power windows, everything is still on as if the key were still there.
might this be an ignition switch issue?

Possible alternator, keeping the system powered up, or a faulty main relay not shutting off.

Next time it stays running, pull the main relay see if that kills the car.

Have you installed anything aftermarket such as alarms or stereos, etc recently..?

Well I just started taking off the ignition switch and some other things, when out of interest, I wanted to pop out the hazard button. Well, it popped off, broken.
I pushed it in, when all of the sudden, all the power came on. After playing around with it for a while (for example push it and hold it just so that all the power is on w/o the key in, then turn the car on, turn it off and pull the key out and it still runs, release the hazard button, and voila, all the power is off), I determined that it must be a short somewhere in the hazard switch, causing the power to stay on. I will play around with that once I get the new button.
