    Parking brake problems

    Hey guys,

I'm trying to remove the rear rotors and having a bit of trouble. I removed the caliper assembly and the bolt securing the rotor to the hub. Now I should be home free right? Why won't it budge? Do I need to take a hammer and bang it a few times on the hub to knock it off? Is there another bolt that I don't know about?

You can try banging on it with a rubber mallet of some kind to try and free it up. Just make sure the emergency brake is fully released first. You may have to loosen the e-brake pads a bit to get it off.

Well the problem is, ever since I bought the car, i never had the e-brake. I could pull is hard as I possibly could and it still wouldn't affect the car one bit. I'm guessing I need to replace the drum shoes because the disc pads are brand new.
