I tried using the standard tool, but I felt awkward trying to use it... sort of like a cub bear trying to screw a football. So I used a standard valve stem from a wheel and chucked it into my drill. It was just fine at first, but then it got a little loose, so I put a hose clamp around it and tightened it up just enough to give it a good grip on the valve stem. Over the course of twelve valves I tightened it a couple more times. I turned the valve on the slowest speed, and after a second of grinding, I would push it in with the drill, and then push it back onto the seat with my finger. That seemed to pull more compound back into play.
