First thing to check is oil pressure sending unit.

Common leak with higher RPMs, right on the bottom of the motor and can blow back to the cat/exhaust.

Climb under car while running, rev and hold.

Sorry to raise one from the dead, but I saw this quote in someone's sig, and recognized the symptoms.
I thought this was the weirdest place for a leak! Do you think this could contribute to my shitty idle, too? (It leaks pretty steadily)
