would it be a good idea to take out the headlight cover so my airbox gets more air? would it help it get more air?

the tube that is supposed to connect that cover and the airbox doesnt even reach all the way. there is a good half inch between the tube and the airbox when i try to put it in.

there would really be no positive effect. just stretch the tube and hose clamp it.
