Selector rod rudding the guibo houseing/ cover.

Hey are u know i swaped the m20 into my 318i and had this porblem for sometime now, 1st and second gear the selactor rod grinds against the guibo houseing/ the matel around dish. i was wondering how i could solieve this problem. i alreasy tryed and it didnt do muich help.

or remove the giant metal cup around the guibo

I already bent the rod, after 2 weeks the fucking rod snaped, so im thinking of removing the cup, what is it there for????

It's called a vibration damper. Tons of people have removed them without any problems.
