I bought my '87 325e a few weeks ago here in Germany and the tach and what i assume is the gas mileage gauge underneath stopped working a couple days later. Now just yesterday the gas gauge and temp. gauge stopped working. Shortly after that I tried to turn the heat on and that wasnt working. Any idea what could be wrong? I just installed my short shifter yesterday and everything except for the tach was working afterwards. Also, the tach stopped working shortly after I was messing with the aftermarket head unit that was in the car. I installed a new one 2 weeks ago.

Check your fuses. -
if you cut the wrong wires with the battery connected, it can burn out the circuit board. i don't know how, but i have seen it happen myself when i was wiring the analogue clock in my car.
pull the speedo cluster out take it apart and you will probably find you have some burnt circuits on the board. they are easy to resolder if is not too bad. if it is really bad you can swap in another circuit board.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen
