I'm betting you need a clutch disc...When it warms up, it expands, and this is why your issue goes away...Secondly, the bunny hop could be the same thing...The clutch is working harder to get everything moving in first and second gears but by the time you're in third there's plenty of momentum smoothing things out. Where does your clutch "take-up"? How far up is your pedal when it fully "grabs"?

Well, thanks for the help. The clutch pedal fully grabs -near- the end of the travel distance. It always seems somewhat spongy, and sometimes the grab point is impossible to predict because it changes. The pedal grabs over a wide distance and slowly makes the car go forward, when it actually catches it'll go normal speed... if you can understand what I mean. Let me reexplain, when you have your foot on the floor, and slowly let it off the car will start going really slowly (this is starting in first) and as you release it further, it'll 'grab' more and go faster until it releases. I don't know if I need a new disc, because when I really step on it and shift into second it'll grip and it'll squeel the tires.Originally posted by EverWiserI'm betting you need a clutch disc...When it warms up, it expands, and this is why your issue goes away...Secondly, the bunny hop could be the same thing...The clutch is working harder to get everything moving in first and second gears but by the time you're in third there's plenty of momentum smoothing things out. Ugg. It seems harder to make a smooth shift now, just driving regularly. No matter how much I slip the clutch going into gear, it always seems to lurch a little bit ... but, maybe that's normal.
