Overheating Or very close to it.

So Im probly gonna be buying Riverdale21's 318is, but when we took it out on a short drive the temp gauge was hovering really really close to overheating. Im curiose if that could be cause the car has been sitting for a while or if its somethign seriouse. :?:

On a completly unrelated note, How much does it usualy cost to fix AC for E30's?

The overheating could be alot of things. First off make sure there is a proper amount of coolant in the system, then check to make sure the thermostat is opening.

e30 a/c is very easy to fix. remove it, clean the compressor up and sell it on ebay for $80+, and throw the rest of the parts in the dumpster

I just went through some trouble with overheating. First thing I would do is fill the cooling system and then bleed the system. You can also check the thermostat, do a cooling system flush.

By default, when I start having overheating problems, I change the thermostat...It's cheap and relatively easy and the older they get the flaky'er they can become. Change it, bleed the system, and check/change the fan clutch. My .02....
