Rain issues&'Whirring' noise, coming from pssngerr door

Well i just drove my car for the first time in the rain last night.. LOTS of rain. it was raining cats and dogs here in WA.

Just patched up a hole i found in the back rear of the trunk, that water accumulated in (found a lil bit of rust under the carpet too :(. Is this a typical problem? the little plug that was supposed to go in the hole was sitting in the little area as well, i just popped it in from underneath and used some silicone sealant.

Hope that fixes it. What are other places to check for water leaks at?

    On to the next issue.

Door locks. Since the heavy rain, i noticed two new things.

    1) When i lock or unlock my doors.. i hear a first click of them going down/up, and then a SECOND click of something else moving inside, perhaps them actually locking? This used to all take place in a single moment, with no more noise after the initial click of the door locks going down.

    2) When i lock my doors. the passenger door is making a short 'whirr' like an electrical motor or device turning or slipping or something.

Whats going on eh? and why did it pop up right after it rained :(

May have been the solenoid for the door lock crapping out. I think the deadbolt mechanism is mechanical...may also have been the gas cap cover solenoid closing.
