Difference 1989-9/90 and 10/90-4/91

What are the differences between these years? How do I know when mine was made (VIN?) and does it affect brake rotor size?

I don't know the differences but I know you should be able to find the month and year of manufacture on the driver's door jamb where the door latch is...

I'm running 09/90, so I've got an "earlier" one. And it is on the door jamb on that little sticker.

'89's still had ellipsoid headlights, pop-out rear windows, and were pre-airbag era. Brake rotors were 10.1" through all years of E30's (non-M)

ah i got a may 90
and mine tells me the date on the right hand side of the engine bay
like behind the light

Yea it doesn't say on the the door jamb of mine. However, I don't have ellipsoids (now I do :D ) or the pop-out window or any of that stuff. Then again, I don't have an airbag either.

I'll look around more later.
