    Cam timing and tuning?

Currently my 318is has a cat-back exhaust system, a K&N air filter and a computer chip from a local BMW shop. I am thinking of getting my M42's intake cam re-dialled 5deg. advance next when I go in for a scheduled service.

What I'm unsure of is, will my car need a new chip or a re-tune to compensate for the changed cam specs? As far as I know, this chip only extends the rev-limiter 300rpm and slightly advances the ignition timing for better response.

    Thanks in advance, Aaron

I'm considering getting my intake cam advanced 5 degree next service as well, apparently it is worth it. Any thing to get more power :)

Hey mjc85, are you on any of the aussie bmw forums? I can't imagine it being a big increase, any idea how much more?
