    Please Help with OBC Question!

    Hey guys,

I was just wondering if it is possible to fit a full OBC (ie all functions, etc) into a 318iS. The reason I'm asking is because I've read Fred Kim's article on retrofitting an OBC and he mentions that if you are retrofitting into a 325i, you need a donar OBC from a 325i/is, if fitting it into a 325e, you need a donar from a 325e/es, etc.

Anyway, the problem I'm having is that he doesn't mention whether or not they will go into a 318iS without changing other unlisted parts and I just thought I'd post here to see if anybody can help me out.

PS: I've tried searching for an answer on the board and unfortunately, cannot seem to find one so I'd much appreciate it if anybody can lend me their advice,

    Thanks in advance,

It is possible. You would need an OBC and harness from an M3 (4cyl as well). The functions wouldn't be 100% but I don't think they are very accurate in the first place.

    Give it a try.

So I can use an OBC from any E30 and apart from the usual general parts that you need to do the swap, the only other part you need is the S14 coding plug?

          Thanks guys,

That is correct. I'll update that on my site one of these days.
