    e34 oil pan removal question

So im looking at the bentley for the e34 and it doesnt mention anything about the cross member or raising the engine to take out the oil pan. Is it really as simple as the bentley makes it out to be?

Im going to pull one from a junk car next week so any experiences or info would be much appreciated. I checked around on the web but didnt find much.

I had to raise the oil pan when I removed an M50 oil pan from an E34 at the junk yard. I used a bottle jack underneath the driver's side engine mount to get enough clearance. Otherwise the rear section of the oilpan won't clear the front subframe.

Yeah i thought that too but here is what bentley says:

      1. drain oil
      2. disconnect oil level sensor
      3. remove radiator cooling fan and shroud
      4. release drive belt tension and remove drive belt
      5. remove PS pump and brackets
      6. remove disstick tube bolt and remove tube
      7. remove bolts from oil pan and lower it to x-member
      8. unbolt pump pickup tube and remove pan from rear

Im assuming you did basicly this and before you were able to remove the pan you just unbolted the mounts and jacked the engine up?
