    Sunroof not working

So last fall (about this time) I left my sunroof open by accident one night and got cold, no rain no snow no nothing. well In the morning when i got in the car and started it up, i pushed the power button to close the sunroof and it closed only part way and then i head a buzzing nose. I checked the track and there is nothing blocking or jaming the track. The only way i was able to close it is with hand crank. It even buzzes when trying to open and does not move. Any ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it?

    thanks!

Sounds like the motor or switch is toast, since you can manually close it the gear and cables are working as they should.
Easiest fix is to change the switch, it is the same as your window switch , and then try it IF that does not work use the online service manual to remove the motor and replace it wit a new/used one. http://ee1394.com/bmw/docs/factory/repair/en/index1.htm

um the link does not work. But one question why would it be the switch if when you push the button you hear buzzing, wouldnt that meant that its getting power?

and where is the best place to order parts from?

Link works fine check browser settings.

The switch would be the least likely but if it was not giving enough power to the motor it could cause it to buzz
You can still get new motors from BMW for ~$280 or get a couple at a junkyard for a lot less.

Here is the real OEM link http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...05&hg=54&fg=05

          Good luck
