Fuel Pulse Absorber on my eta

So i was wondering why i was getting 11mpg...and i looked at my fuel filter and saw my Fuel Pulse Absorber.....

Would it be ok to take that out for now till i get a new one? Or would it be better to have the ball of rust in there?

They don't make them anymore. Just take her out! Might want to check the other ones around the car. You may have one back at the fuel pump too.

Yes they do. I got a new one from my dealer about two months ago. The pulse damper does have a purpose and it is a good idea to retain it. But unless it is leaking, it won't be the cause of the low mileage. That might be caused by a problem with the fuel system, but there are other possibilities...
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Took it out. Car pulls smooth when i hit the gas now! Before it would hesitate when i was accelerating. And i saw a tiny hole in the part so i hope it was the problem and i just fixed it :)

No, he said fuel pulse absorber. I believe it mitigates resonance in the fuel system. Not sure what the attribute the resonance to...fuel pump/engine rpm or whatever.

In any case, if you're confident the effects of resonance in your fuel system are negligable, by all means remove it. My guess is that you have no idea, so I'd say replace it to be safe.
