I have wanted an e30 for years but never had the time or will, now things have changed.

i get it. you want to make the car your own, instead of taking over someone elses baby

Anyone will tell you mileage doesn't mean jack on an M20 motor if it's been well maintained. There are hundreds of stories of people pulling apart 200k mile motors that still have the crosshatching on the cylinders.

thats the problem that alot of buyers are having, but he has basically replaced everything and it is mechanically sound.

go on bimmerforums into the e30 subforum, and search NHskibm (thats his username there), he has posted numerous threads about the maintenance of that car.

In terms of a great car, it definitely is for sure, but 250K is pushing it for me.

You're insane if you don't buy Howard's car. It has a brand new paintjob on it and a couple grand in mods for less than the one you're looking at with rust on it!

I know its getting increasingly harder and harder to find a nice iX with low miles. They're worth the price IMO, and other people who have seen my car have tended to agree with me.

I really wouldnt worry about the rust in the trunk. Obviously something you want to get rid of, but it shouldn't affect the integrity of the car.

I'll be driving from Boston to Iowa City. As of right now yes I am buying it, but me and the owner haven't finalized anything yet so it is still up in the air. The whole rust and price issue are still making me hesitant to get it. We'll have to see.

Is that your ix there? Wanna sell it to me :D. I absolutely love it, looks sharp.
