unfortunately no pics of the rust in the trunk. but i have seen the rust on the doors and it seems to be just surface, nothing major.

so you guys think i should go for it or what? I hate making decisions :D.

the price seems fair. especially with winter coming up pretty soon, the price of iX's are going to go.

    btw, have any pics?

i have some rust in my trunk area. apparently the PO didnt screw the antenna back on tightly when he took it out so there was some dripping into the trunk. nothing major, it doesnt affect anything. its on my list of things to do.

I know the owner, great guy.

If it wasn't an auto, I would be all over it. If any one knows of other ix's for sale int he same price range, pleae do tell :D.

So do you guys think the price is reasonable for what I am getting?
Also, he mentioned rust in the trunk under the battery. In worst case scenarios, can this be fixed and if so, how hard would it be??

once again, appreciate all your input.

that car has barely been driven in the past couple of years.

you might want to get the timing belt and water pump done if you go through with the purchase. the recommended change is every 4 years or 60k miles, since it was replaced back in 2003, its been 5 years. if the timing belt goes, there basically goes your engine. and its relatively cheap to replace the TB, compared to another M20

06/2004 - Replace clutch assembly (clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, resurfaced flywheel, replaced selector shaft seal & 2 quibo joints) (107,832 miles)
12/2003 - Replaced head gasket, timing belt and related parts. Replaced both tie rods. Replace left front drive axle. Replace gas tank & related parts. (105,375 miles)
11/2001 - Replace water pump and drive belts. (82,546 miles)

this is what I have got on the car. Really appreciate your help on this.

here is the rest of the thread ... as you can see I am new to this.

the car is clean inside and out, some rust on the bottom of both doors, and in the trunk area (under battery). The guy has replaced all suspension and brake components within the last 10000 miles, along with the entire clutch assembly.

he is asking $5000. Is that too much for this car?
Also, the rust in the trunk area, how hard is that to fix (in worse case scenario)??
