Super ETA vs 325i intake diffrences?

    Super ETA vs 325i intake diffrences?

    I was wondering if there wear any differences in these two.
    I know the super eta manifold is bigger then the regular eta's, but is it the
    same as the 325i's?

    I picked one up a day ago from an 88 but now that I think of it, I'm not sure if it's a
    super Eta or 325i :oops: Can anyone identify my manifold please?



    If you need more pictures to confirm, just ask.
    Might as well not get the throttle body if it is the super.

    That's an 'i' intake. The super eta and standard eta are the same. They both have longer, more narrow runners than the 'i' intakes. You'll be able to tell if you have them next to each other.

      The 2 super eta Intakes I've seen have had even smaller runners then the Reg. Eta manifold.

      But that is An I intake in your photo, like Dan Said.

        I didn't realize the super eta and eta intake were any different. They look the same to me when I saw them. It might be worth running an etk part number search on those.

          You are correct, the super eta intakes do indeed have smaller runners than the regular eta.

            I always thought it was the other way around. Wonder why bmw did that since the super eta is a better engine and rev more. :?

              Since it's nicer than the standard E motor, and revs more, BMW had to place a choker somewhere in the system, they wanted to make sure the power stayed around 125 horsepower. To accomplish this, they made the 'e' manifold even skinner for the super E.

                Actually, the reason for the narrower and longer intake runners is to produce more low end torque, not because they are a restricter, at least not when the redline is under 6500. This is also why it had a single vs. dual exhaust.
