    Off the wall Question

If You installed the newer style Pulse and Crank sensor on a car that has the speed and reference sensors, will it run? Basically swapping the old style for the new style, ussing the same computer and harness(as Old). I know they will plug in but I wonder if the ecu will be able to Interprete there readings.
I hate the Speed and reference sensors on the flywheel, and much prefer the newer style.

I am not sure if that would work, but why do you hate them? other then location, I see no issue with the eta speed and ref sensors

Location, there connectors have high chances of breaking, You have to have the tranny installed to test fire an Engine, where as with the 325i style you can just plug it in and see if it will start. Makeing it easier for Engine conversions. The Pin Breaking off the flywheel, and more.
This is mainly in reguards to the 3.3 m30 Engine I'm building. As soon as I can find the parts it will be converted to the Motronic 1.3 system. I've jsut had hassles with those sensors on our 86 528e, and have a pile of 6 in the garage, on which half the connectors are broken.
