Disassembling Side Mirrors

There is a big rivit or sorts that holds them together. Get I can figure you "can" take them apart, but then there is no going back together.

Paint them in the default position.

when you paint them how do you separate the mirror part from the inside?

reach a small flathead in from the hole in the bottom of the mirror housing and rotate the locking cam. Glass will fall out. Motor is 4 phillips screws.
